Danae Ayusso is a principal wordsmith at Geeks on Ink Publishing, where she has spent years proving that an overactive imagination, questionable sleep schedules, and an internet search history that probably requires legal representation can, in fact, be turned into a career.

With more than 70 books to her name, Danae writes the kind of stories that make readers lose sleep, question their life choices, and occasionally wonder, “Where the hell did she get that idea?”

She would tell you that research is important.

The FBI would apparently agree.

Danae’s search history has allegedly placed her somewhere on a government watchlist, although nobody has confirmed which one. Her FBI agent assigned to monitor her webcam has reportedly been attending therapy twice a week, is taking multiple medications, and has recently requested a transfer to someone who only researches cake recipes and gardening.

Danae maintains that she is completely innocent.

Her browser history says otherwise.

Over the years, her research has included everything from poisons, obscure historical atrocities, organized crime, weapons, human anatomy, questionable medical procedures, ancient rituals, and approximately seventeen different ways a fictional character can meet an unfortunate end.

Again: research.

She writes across multiple genres, creating worlds filled with dangerous people, complicated relationships, morally questionable decisions, supernatural creatures, revenge, romance, and enough bad decisions to keep her characters employed indefinitely.

When she's not writing, Danae can presumably be found doing something perfectly normal and entirely innocent—although anyone checking her search history may want to bring a lawyer.

She writes the stories you shouldn't admit you enjoy reading.

And apparently, someone in Quantico enjoys them too.
